On February 27, 1993, Alphonse Francis Areola was born in France. He currently plays goal for Premier League team West Ham United and the France national team.
After graduating from the PSG academy, he spent time on loan with Lens, Bastia, and Villarreal to start his professional career. While playing for Villarreal, Areola set a club record for the longest period of time without conceding a goal, going 620 minutes.
He returned to PSG in 2016, and he finally made over 100 appearances there. Areola made a season-long loan to Real Madrid in 2019.
Areola began playing football with Entente Sportive des Petits Anges at the age of six. He remained with the team for seven years until switching to Ligue 1’s Paris Saint-Germain. (PSG).
On the advice of Paris-based coaches, Areola enrolled at the Clairefontaine Football Center at the age of 15 in order to enhance his development. He returned to PSG the following year and, in July 2009, signed his first-ever professional contract with the Parisians, a three-year deal.
